Capone’s Billiards Lounge, Spring Hill, FL was the host venue for the latest $1000 Added KF Cue Tour Open event. The field was full of notable names, Donnie Mills, Ronnie Wiseman, Tony Crosby, James Roberts, Yu Ram Cha, Tracie Hines, Julio Aquino, and Jason Richko just to mention a few. The day kicked off with local player Bill Stoll causing an upset, sending Ronnie Wiseman to the one loss side 7-6. One of the matches of the day would see Tony Crosby defeat Yu Ram Cha 7-6 in a very high quality match.

Julio Aquino (tour point’s leader) was doing his best to try and take his first KF event by capturing the hotseat with wins over Nicole Winters 7-0, room owner Rocky McElroy 7-3, Bill Delisle 7-2, Tony Crosby 7-2 and then he would get a bye into the hotseat as Donnie Mills would have to forfeit for family reasons. On the one loss side Yu Ram Cha was on a mission, beating Bill Dunsmore 7-1, James Roberts 7-2, Wayne Catledge 7-5, Tracie Hines 7-2, a revenge match against Tony Crosby 7-5 and then a win over Ronnie Wiseman 7-3 to put her in the final.

The final would be a single race to 9. Cha came out of the gates quick, taking a 4-1 and then 7-2 lead. Aquino won one more rack but a dry break would be his last visit to the table, with Yu Ram running the table then breaking and running the last rack to take her first KF Open Event win along with first place trophy and prize money of $635. So a big Congratulation goes out to our first Lady winner on tour Yu Ram Cha.

Sunday brought 42 players for the $700 Added Amateur event. Orlando, FL  has a very strong contingent of Amateur players which certainly was showing up on the day with Ted Lepak, George Saunders, Julio Del Pozo and Travis Moore making up the final 4 players undefeated on the winner’s side.

Julio Del Pozo would be the man to beat on the day making his way to the hotseat with wins over Louie (the Spoiler) Smith, Buzzy Thompson, Jeff Primmer, travis Moore and then a strong win over George Saunders 7-4 to get the hotseat. Saunders was 5-0 down before he won his first game which he followed it up with 3 more to get it back to 5-4, Del Pozo had other ideas and would would win the next 2 to take this match.

On the one loss side Albert Howe who lost his first match to Charles Marable hill hill was on a mission. Albert would win 7 matches in a row before running into Ted Lepak. Lepak who had already dispatched Bobby Moore on the winner’s side would now send Moore road partner Howe home in 4th place with a strong 5-2 win. Lepak would now have his rematch with Saunders, Saunders would prove to strong on the day sending Lepak home in 3rd and give him a Final rematch with Del Pozo.

Saunders was looking strong early in the match trading racks to take a 4-3 lead. It would be all Del Pozo from there the winning 6 racks in a row to take his first KF title, Trophy and prize fund of $525.
