The KF cue tour made its way to Orlando Florida for the first time. Fast Break Billiards was the host room for this $1700 Added event. The Open event kicked off as usual on Saturday with its biggest field of the season with 57 players showing up. Fast Break Billiards which is now run and owned by Kelli and Ted Lepak who both worked around the clock to make this event one of the best to date.

The field was stacked with talent with, players Like Corey Deuel, Ronnie Wiseman, Charlie Williams, Neil Fujiwara, Tony Crosby, James Roberts, Julio Aquino just to mention a few showing up to try and earn a share of the $3180 pot that was on offer. There were also 7 ladies and 2 juniors showing up taking advantage of the reduced entry fees.

Charlie Williams, Tony Crosby, Dave Ross

Charlie Williams showed why he is not just a big time promoter by going undefeated through this 57 player field. Williams kicked of the day with wins over ex professional ladies player Jeannie Seaver 7-3, Nicole Winters 7-1, Donnie Runk 7-3, Yu Ram Cha 7-3, Richard Murray 7-3 he would now face off against James Roberts for the Hotseat match. Roberts who has been proving all that he is not here for a day out any more made his way to the winners side final with wins over Han Berber 7-6, JR Foreman 7-4, Tony Crosby 7-5, Travis Moore 7-3 and a 7-5 win over Julio Aquino to put himself in a hotseat match up with Charlie Williams. The hotseat Match didn’t go as planned for Roberts who never got going in this one, and Williams ran with the rolls to take this match 7-1.

While all this was going on one of the oldest men on tour, at 74 years young was showing that it’s never to late to improve. After taking a loss to Richard Murray in the 4th round 7-3, Ross went on a rampage by eliminating Tony Crosby 6-5, Josh Lewis 6-3, Julio Aquino 6-3 he then would take revenge on Murray and send him home with a 6-5 loss to put him in a semi final match up with Roberts. Roberts looked like booking himself a rematch with Williams as he took control to take a 5-2 lead needing one game. Ross would dig deep and some how manage to go onto win this match 6-5 and make his way to the final for the first time.

Williams would have no mercy in the final which ran into the early hours to take his first KF Cue Tour win and 1st place prize money of $850.

On the day Yu Ram Cha who placed in the money was top lady Pro and Jessica Barnes was named top lady Amateur receiving $40. Bryce Lepak would win the Junior play off to take the Top Junior honor.
The room owners played a big part in making this event a huge success with Family and friends pulling together and working round the clock. The room also had a large player presence on both days with many of the local players making the money rounds.

Howe About Moore

Fast Break Billiards, Longwood, Florida hosted the $700 Added Amateur and another record breaking turn out for a piece of the $2600 total purse. The Amateur event attracted 76 players with 13 ladies and 2 Junior’s taking advantage of reduced entries. Bobby Moore would be the first to make it to the hot seat match on the day with wins over Roberto Deleon 5-0, Jim Sandaler 5-2, Tim Daniel 5-3, Richard Knight(turtle) 5-0 and then he would find himself in a hot seat matchup with good friend and road partner Albert Howe. Howe who is proving him self to be one of the top players on tour, has become a Hill Hill specialist this season winning more than 60% of his matches in the case game. His route to the final would see him defeat Stacy Redard 5-3, Josh Lewis 5-4, Jeff Mabry 5-2, Elvis Rodriguez 5-1 Jim Herron 6-4 to put himself in with a shot at Moore.

Albert Howe - 2nd, Room Owner Ted Lepak, Winner Bobby Moore

The Hotseat match would be a very tight affair with both players playing solid pool, at 5-5 Moore would run the table to take the match and let Howe know that he cant win them all at Hill Hill.

The one loss side was packed with talented players trying to work there way back. There would be no easy matches with players like Tony Pete, Shanelle Loraine, Jeannie Seaver, Danny Sheldon, Josh Lewis, Angel Rivera.

Wesley White was looking strong on the one loss side with wins over Richard Murray 5-3, Danny Sheldon 5-4 before running into Jim Herron and losing 5-4 Herron would then go onto beat Jeannie Seaver 5-4 making the 9 ball on the break to win this match Hill Hill. The semi final Match up would see Howe beat Herron 5-3 and book himself a revenge match with Moore. Moore would come out the gates quick in the final and take a 4-0 lead, Howe would mount a mini comeback and take the next 2 games but that would be it as Moore closed the match out 6-2 to take his first KF event with 1st place prize of $600.
